Movie Island 2025 \u2013 13 Countries, 13 Films on Margaret Island<\/strong><\/h2>\n

From 7 to 19 August 2025<\/strong>, one of Budapest\u2019s most unique open-air events returns: Movie Island<\/strong>. For 13 consecutive evenings, 13 cultural institutes or embassies will each present a film in the charming garden cinema setting of the Margaret Island Athletics Centre<\/strong>. Screenings begin every night at 8:00 p.m.<\/strong>, with gates opening at the same time. Entry is free<\/strong>, and no registration is required.<\/p>\n

    Visitor Information:<\/h3>\n

      We can welcome the first 500 visitors<\/strong> each evening. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Screenings will start between 8:10 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.<\/strong>, depending on lighting conditions and film length.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      No seating is provided.<\/strong> Please bring your own blanket or cushion to sit on the grass or the running track. Camping or fishing chairs are not allowed<\/strong> on the grass or track but may be placed behind the track on the narrow concrete strip if necessary.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Please avoid wearing high heels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Food and drinks<\/strong> may be brought into the venue, but only in plastic containers<\/strong>. We kindly ask you to take all rubbish with you when you leave.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      No dogs or other pets<\/strong> are allowed in the venue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Bicycles must be locked outside the entrance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Toilets are available<\/strong> during the event.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Visitors using wheelchairs<\/strong> may enter through the service gate, accessible via a side road about 100 metres from the main entrance. Please ring the intercom at the gate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Screenings will only take place in suitable weather conditions<\/strong>. In case of cancellation due to weather, updates will be shared on the Movie Island Facebook page<\/strong> and the relevant event. If a screening is cancelled, we will reschedule it for a later date.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      All films will be screened in their original language with Hungarian subtitles<\/strong>. The Finnish film will also have English subtitles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Films are recommended for audiences aged 18 and over<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      By attending the event, visitors agree to the possibility of being photographed or filmed<\/strong>, and these materials may be used publicly by the organisers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
